It was known that he is always a force to be reckoned with, but that he would be seen on the winners' podium of the Badenia in Mannheim yesterday - nobody could really believe it. It is none other than Michael Jung.

Michael Jung - this name stands not only in Germany, but also internationally for one thing: multi-success in eventing. From a European championship title, world championship title or up to Olympic gold. All these titles Michael Jung could already book on his success account.
Yesterday, a new success was added: winner of the Bardenia in Mannheim.

The Bardenia in Mannheim is one of the most traditional tournaments in Germany. This year it could already take place for the 57th time. Normally, the tournament is always accompanied by the annual Maimarkt, where you can find exhibitors and offers of all kinds. Unfortunately, such a realization was not possible due to the Corona pandemic. Nevertheless, you could follow all the tests live on ClipMyHorse.

In yesterday's Badenia, which always takes place on Tuesdays, the outcome could not have been tighter. Just a hundredth behind Jung lined up the winner from Hagen, Maurice Tebbel.

"It worked out great today, over the combination, otherwise a main cliff for her, she went wide awake and was highly motivated afterwards," Michi Jung praised his mare fischerChelsea. The man from Horb am Neckar had taken her over from Marcus Ehning a few years ago, and has now worked his way up to 160cm. Jung and the 13-year-old mare harmonize well.
Jung, who is highly regarded by many fellow riders in all disciplines, also thanked the organizers. He thanked for "great tournament with a great ground, a great course - this success now inspires for the future and not least for Tokyo."

Christa Jung was responsible for the course. She built a challenging but also fair course. 530 meters long was the course, which included 13 obstacles with 16 jumps.

In addition to its own status, the Badenia in Mannheim was also considered a qualification for the Olympic Games as well as for the European Championships in Riesenbeck.

For next year, tournament director Peter Hoffmann hopes that the Mannheim Maimarkt can take place again with its usual spectators.
